Here at San Augustine Middle School, our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which our students are able to enrich their minds and hearts. Through the use of interactive instruction, based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, our students learn how to develop the best independent and supported learning strategies.

Each of our middle school classrooms are equipped with interactive white boards and Chromebooks. These types of technology ensure that our students have the ability to conduct research, see real-life examples, and share their own self-created projects. We are thankful that our campus allows us the opportunity to incorporate technology into our learning.

Along with our highly-qualified teachers, the middle school also boasts a strong team of support staff. Every part of our campus operates as a team. We have weekly meetings where we set goals and discuss how to best meet each student’s needs. Our campus committees are designed so that student voice is always present in any decision.

As on our other district campuses, we have a large part of our student population who are active in band, U.I.L. academics, sports and student groups. We are very proud of each of our students for choosing to be active participants in their education, as well as extra-curricular.

In order to celebrate the success of our school, Student of the Month is announced each month and those students are invited to the school board meeting for special recognition. The middle school also hosts several family nights throughout the year in order to keep parents up-to-date on upcoming projects, goals, and activities. Academic Achievement, Perfect Attendance, and Most Improved Student Awards are given annually at the end of the year.

We love our San Augustine community so much! Through community outreach, our students are involved with projects with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office, the local nursing homes, and The San Augustine County Chamber of Commerce.

This year is off to a phenomenal start!
