Congratulations to December Students of the Month

Elementary School:
 
The Pre-K Student of the Month for December is Madison Almendariz-Yanez. Madison is a good listener and does her work, she is also a sweet student who plays well with others. Madison is the daughter of Amanda Almendariz and Jose Antonio Yanez-Rosas. Madison is in Ms. LaErica Pickens and Heather Hurst’s classroom.
 
 
The Kindergarten Student of the Month for December is Jamilyia Giles. Jamilyia is a very kind and helpful student and she always wants to help others by offering her things when someone doesn’t have any supplies or their pencil breaks.
 
 
Her favorite subject is Math, and when she gets home she likes to eat, take a bath, and then go to bed. When she gets older, she would like to be a Mommy. Jamilyia is the daughter of Jamieka Thomas and Anthony Giles and she is in Mrs. Lisa Ainsworth’s homeroom.
 
 
The 1st grade Student of the Month for December is Emily DeJesus Martinez. Mrs. Janna Wiliams said she chose Emily because she is a fantastic student. Emily works hard in and out of class, she always does her best. She also has the brightest smile that will just brighten your day!!!!! Emily is the daughter of Paulino and Laurita DeJesus Martinez.
 
 
The 2nd grade Student of the Month for December is Madison Hernandez. Madison is in Mrs. Jenny Tanner’s homeroom class. She was chosen for Student of the Month because she is always willing to help other students and is always polite to everyone. Madison’s favorite subject is Math, and when she grows up she would like to be a teacher. Madison is the daughter of Jose and Yajaira Hernandez.
 
 
The 3rd grade Student of the Month for December is Elizabeth Carpenter. Elizabeth reflects our December theme of generosity each and every day with her classmates and teachers. She is a kind hearted person and she gives it her all in the classroom. Elizabeth models kindness and generosity really well and she deserves this honor of Student of the Month. Elizabeth is the daughter of Stephanie and Lester Carpenter, and her teachers are Veshun Lacy, Susan McDaniel, and Heidi Pritchett.
 
 
The 4th Grade student of the Month for December is Isabel DeJesus Martinez. Isabel is very generous and loves to give and help others. She is a hard worker and is very serious about her grades. Her favorite subjects are Math, Reading and Science. She would like to be an engineer when she gets older. Isabel is the daughter of Paulino and Laurita DeJesus Martinez and her teachers are Jennifer Morton, Reva Davis, and Terra White.
 
 
The 5 th grade Student of the Month for December is Teryn Holman. Teryn is a hard worker and her best subject is Social Studies. In her spare time, she enjoys just doing whatever she wants to do!!! Teryn is the daughter Terry and Keisha Holman, and her teachers are Ashley Burks, Melba Pahal, Linda Skadowski, and Billie Jo Bellamy.

Middle School:
The 6th grade Student of the Month for December is Kirsten Burns. Kirsten is a wonderful student to have in class. She is always pleasant and kind to her teachers and classmates. In her spare time, she enjoys riding four wheelers, drawing, trying new hairstyles, and painting her nails. Her favorite subject is reading and she said her favorite teacher is Ms. Boyer because her dad has known her all of his life and she is very kind! In the future Kirsten would like to pursue a job in healthcare and hope to have a loving home for foster children. Kirsten is the daughter of Tina and Charles Burns.
 
 
The 7th grade Student of the Month for December is Vi’Siscile Caraway. Vi’Siscile always submits her work in a timely manner and she is very thorough and makes sure she completes everything. She is very polite and respectful to both her peers and teachers. Vi’Siscile likes running track and spending time with her cousins. She is also a middle school cheerleader. Her favorite subject is math and her favorite teacher is Ms. LaRenda Watts because learning is fun in her class. When Vi’Siscile graduates, she plans to go to college and join the Army. Vi’Siscile is the daughter of Judie and Rayford Caraway.
 

The 8th grade Student of the Month for December is Zakira Hoyle. Zakira is always participating in every classroom activity and she works hard to get her work turned in on time. Zakira is very respectful, has a happy disposition and is a true delight to teach, her teachers say.  Zakira’s favorite subjects are Science and History and her favorite teachers are Coach and D. and Mrs. Herrera because I can talk to them and they are understanding. In her free time, she enjoys painting, binge watching, and baking. After graduation, Zakira plans to attend college to pursue a career in nursing. Zakira is the daughter of Verlon and Shameka Clifton.

High School:
The 9th grade Student of the Month for December is Ja’Myia Barnes. Ja'Myia is a very hard working and respectful young lady.  She is always on time for class and ready to get started with her work.  Ja'Myia sets a great example for the students with her positive attitude.  Her favorite subject is Spanish and she says her favorite teacher is Mrs. Cotton because she is very nice and you can talk to her about anything. Ja’Myia is a member of FFA and numerous athletic events. Her hobbies are shopping and hanging out with her friends. After graduating from high school, Ja’Myia plans to attend college to pursue a degree in crimal justice and become a lawyer. She would also like to have her own business one day! Ja’Myia is the daughter of Tamekia Wade and JaMarticus Barnes.
 
 
The 10th grade Student of the Month for November is Mariah Smith. Mariah is an outstanding young lady and sophomore student. Once she completes her school work each day, she likes to read the bible, listen to music, and find more new things to learn. Maria is earning the highest grade in her technology college class at Angelina College, even though she has had the extra challenge of performing all of her college work as a virtual student in Wolf Academy at SAHS. She hopes to continue taking college classes while she is in high school. Mariah's favorite subject in school is geometry. She says her favorite teacher is Mrs. Jesica Herrera because even though she isn’t her current teacher, she is always willing to help. Once Mariah graduates, she plans to attend Sam Houston University and achieve a degree in fine arts. While in high school and college, she wants to also learn television production and filmmaking so that one day she can enjoy a successful career as a film editor. Mariah is the daughter of Kimberly Smith and Kenneth Jenkins.
 
 
The 11th grade Student of the Month for December is Joel Deville. Joel is very considerate and helpful. He is a wonderful student and works very hard in all his endeavors.  Joel's favorite subject is mathematics. He enjoys his technology classes and his favorite teacher, Mr. Schmieder, because of the workload and varied interests. Joel is involved in TSA, band, UIL, and Tri-M. Once Joel graduates, he plans to go to Texas A&M in College Station to major in civil engineering. Joel is the son of Randy and Rebecca Deville.
 
The 12th grade Student of the Month for December is Kira Palmer. Kira is an outstanding student, who is kind to others. She is involved in many school activities and can always be counted on to give her very best effort. 
Kira’s favorite subject is Science and her favorite teacher is Ms. McNamara because she is fun to be around and her class is always challenging. Kira enjoys singing, twirling, drawing, and writing stories in her free time. She is involved in tennis, UIL, TSA, twirling and band. After graduation, Kira plans to go to college at Angelo State University and major in marketing. She would like to work at a company to gain experience then later on open a business of her own. Kira is the daughter of Polly Bluford.
