DeMarcus is the son of Marcus and Jackie Porter. His favorite subject is reading and in his free time enjoys drawing, playing video games, sports, and UIL. DeMarcus wants to become an engineer or a cartoonist. His teacher said, “DeMarcus is respectful and kind to everyone he talks to, and he goes out of his way to help others without being asked.”
The 7th grade Student of the Month for September is Chloe Amburn. Chloe is the daughter of Michelle Amburn. She enjoys reading and is involved in athletics. Her teacher said, “Chloe hopes to be a veterinarian when she grows up. She loves taking care of her animals- cats, dogs, rabbits and any other animal. She comes back to our school from Tarkington and is enjoying her seventh grade year.”
The 8th grade Student of the Month for September is Sandra Yanez. Sandra is the daughter of Juan and Jackie Yanez. Her favorite subject is science and in her free time she enjoys listening to K-pop bands, reading and playing outside. Sandra is involved in band and UIL. Her teacher said, “Her favorite color is yellow and her favorite food is enchiladas, rice and beans. In the future, she would like to be a paramedic.”
